What MOTS-c is+
MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene. Unlike the vast majority of peptides, which are transcribed from the nuclear genome, MOTS-c is one of a small class of bioactive peptides originating directly from the mitochondrial genome itself.
